HX-1 [Drive] - Drive mode doesn't look like it should or I don't see the buttons I was used to

The Drive mode functionality on the HX-1 is provided by the iGo Nextgen app.

Periodically, updates will be released for the HX-1 to improve the functionality and reliability of the Drive mode app.

When updating the Drive mode app, it is important that Drive mode has been exited completely before attempting the update.

If Drive mode is not exited (ie. if left running in the background), the update may not complete successfully.

You can be sure you have completely exited Drive mode, by tapping the Menu button at lower-left of the main screen (shown below).

Then, tap the Exit button on the Main Menu screen, as shown below.

If you are seeing Drive mode in a way that you are not used to seeing it (ie. if the screens, menus and buttons look unfamiliar), it may be that the last update for the Drive app did not completely install on your HX-1.

If this is the case, do the following:

  1. Exit the Drive app completely via the Exit button (see above)
  2. Reboot your HX-1
  3. Re-run the update process using the Check for Updates Now button on the Settings screen of the HX-1
  4. Wait for the Drive update app to download and install

After that you should be back to where you should be.

You can easily identify if the Drive mode app is not correctly updated. You will see a number of standout tell-tale signs that this is so, as follows:

When Drive mode starts up, you will see an incorrect startup screen (incorrect on left, correct on right)

When you enter the Main menu in Drive mode, you will see a different main menu  (incorrect on left, correct on right)
