OziExplorer [4WD mode] - I want to backup or get rid of old data, such as waypoints, track logs etc.

OziExplorer can store the following data while in use:

Waypoints

OziExplorer stores waypoints in an internal database. This database file is called ceWaypoints.wpb and it is stored on the internal memory of your Navigator, in the HNOZI\Data folder.

You can also export your waypoints so that you can copy them to a PC, or email them to a friend etc. The export COPIES the waypoints from the internal memory to a file on the SD card, in the OziExplorer Data folder. The file name used to store the exported waypoints is chosen at the time of the export. Once OziExplorer has exported the waypoints to a file, it will NOT allow you to delete the exported file from within the program.

Tracks

The current track log is stored on the Navigator's internal memory. When you perform a COPY LOG, the current log is COPIED to the OziExplorer Data folder on the SD card. Also, OziExplorer is set by default to automatically take a copy of your log file once a month (this can be changed to Daily, Weekly or Monthly in the settings).

Once OziExplorer has copied the track log(s) to a file on the SD card, it will NOT allow you to delete that file from within the program.

Routes

When you create a route in OziExplorer, and then save it, the default save location will always be the OziExplorer Data folder on the SD card.

So, reading the above, you should understand that copied or exported data is stored in the OziExplorer Data folder on the SD card, and that OziExplorer does not allow you to delete the files directly from within the software.

If you wish to

  1. Take a backup copy of the current data (ie. copy the OziExplorer Data folder to your PC)
  2. Clear out data which is out of date, no longer required, or for some other reason

you need to do it using one of two methods:

  1. Connect your Navigator up in USB mode, and browse the SD card drive letter. Find the OziExplorer Data folder, and copy the content to your PC, or delete the content you no longer require. Do NOT delete the folder, only the files within the folder which you no longer require.
  2. Eject the SD card from the Navigator, and using a card reader, browse the SD card directly, and copy the content to your PC, or delete the content you no longer require from the OziExplorer Data folder. Again, do NOT delete the folder, only the files within the folder which you no longer require.
